Need prayer now?
Will God help me if I pray?
Yes. God helps those who sincerely ask for things that are in harmony with his will. Even if you’ve never prayed before, you can be encouraged by the Bible’s examples of those who prayed, “God, help me.” Even reaching out with a small amount of faith puts us in a place of finding mercy.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”
Psalm 34:18
Yes. No. Wait.
It’s easy to assume this all means God will take our troubles away. Sometimes, though, He doesn’t. We don’t understand the reasons why, but trust that He is there with us, and will bring us through them.
Sometimes God says, “Yes;” but sometimes He says, “No, that’s not my will. That’s not the help you really need.” Sometimes He says, “Wait. Not now. This isn’t the right time. Some other things need to happen first.”
So prayer is trusting that God will do what’s right and best. This submission leads to peace.
God knows your heart.
Prayer may seem awkward at first, but treat it as a conversation. God knows your heart, and His Spirit helps us even if we can’t find the words to pray.
