If you or a loved one are experiencing suicidal thoughts or feelings, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255), or text 741741 for help. If danger for self-harm seems imminent, call 911, or take that individual to your local ER.
You may also call the Neighborhood Service Organization crisis call center for any mental health crisis, including suicide prevention and information, and referrals for survivors of suicide support group services: 313-224-7000 or 1-800-241-4949.
If the person only expresses wishes or desires for suicide, but has no plan or means to commit that plan, the SAFETY PLAN app (blue with a white cross in the middle) may be a helpful resource. This app is available to all types of phones, and contains a customizable, built-in safety plan, along with national and local resources. This app can also be used alongside of treatment with a licensed therapist.
